Madison Crawford’s journey into the world of birth support began in 2019, when she witnessed the beauty and simplicity of a home birth. Watching her friend bring new life into the world, surrounded by love and support, sparked a deep desire to learn to support women in this way. She was captivated by the natural rhythm and strength of the body, realizing that birth, when nurtured, could be a transformative experience.
With a heart for empowering women, Madison is committed to helping every client feel confident, supported, and cared for—whether their birth takes place at home or in the hospital. She believes that, while outcomes may be beyond her control, a doula can make all the difference in creating the most positive and empowering birth experience possible.
Madison lives with her husband and three children in Madison, MS. She is able to travel within a 2 hour radius. If you’re not local to Madison county, you can discuss arrangements for travel in your discovery call!
“I’m incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to experience both hospital and homebirths, and I believe this firsthand experience allows me to offer valuable support to my clients, no matter where they choose to give birth.”
“The word “doula” comes from the Greek word meaning “woman who serves,” and that’s exactly what I aim to do. Whether it’s holding a hand, offering counter pressure, or providing information, my role as a doula is to serve and support my clients in whatever way they need. ”
“As a DONA-trained doula proudly serving the greater Jackson, Mississippi metro area, it brings me great joy to offer support and comfort to women throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey. My personal experiences with birth have shaped the way I support my clients, and I’m passionate about helping each woman feel empowered, informed, and cared for every step of the way.
When I was pregnant with my first child, I was amazed at how much there was to learn about labor and birth, especially as I aimed for an unmedicated birth. My husband and I took a Bradley Method class, read multiple books, and did a lot of research. We were fortunate to have an incredible doula who was there for us every step of the way. Her unwavering support, emotional and physical comfort, and advocacy helped us achieve the natural birth we wanted.
For my second birth, I chose to have a homebirth, trusting in my low-risk status and the comfort of being in my own space. Surrounded by a team of supportive women—including my doula, my sister, and my midwife—I had one of the most nurturing and loving birth experiences I could have ever hoped for.
I’m incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to experience both hospital and homebirths, and I believe this firsthand experience allows me to offer valuable support to my clients, no matter where they choose to give birth.
I’m here to provide emotional support, physical comfort, informational guidance, partner support, and advocacy—always with confidentiality and care.
It’s my honor to walk alongside every woman who uses my services, offering care, prayer, and guidance as they navigate their own birth journey.”

A doula provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during labor. We offer comfort measures such as massage, breathing techniques, and positioning to help you manage pain naturally. We also advocate for your wishes, ensure you feel heard, and help guide your partner in providing support. The goal is to create a calm and supportive environment, helping you feel empowered and in control.

While both doulas and midwives are birth professionals, they have different roles. A midwife is a healthcare provider responsible for monitoring the medical aspects of your birth, such as checking the baby’s heart rate, managing complications, and performing deliveries. A doula, on the other hand, focuses on emotional and physical support, providing comfort and guidance throughout labor and delivery, but does not perform medical tasks.

Yes! While your partner and healthcare team are essential to your birth experience, a doula provides additional support specifically tailored to your emotional and physical needs. Your partner may not always know how to help with pain management or may need guidance on how to best support you, especially during intense moments. A doula can complement your team, ensuring you feel cared for, heard, and empowered.
